Frequently asked questions.

What should I expect during my first visit to Wildflower Wellness?

Your first visit begins with a detailed consultation to understand your health history, lifestyle, and wellness goals. We’ll then create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. Depending on your concerns, your session may include acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, or other holistic therapies. Expect a relaxing, nurturing environment where you feel supported every step of the way.

How does acupuncture work?

Acupuncture works by stimulating specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points, to balance the flow of energy, or Qi, through pathways called meridians. When these pathways are blocked or out of balance, it can lead to physical or emotional symptoms. By gently inserting fine needles into these points, acupuncture helps restore balance, enhance circulation, and activate the body’s natural healing abilities. This ancient practice not only addresses symptoms but also targets the root causes of imbalance, promoting overall health and well-being.

Are the treatments safe, and do they hurt?

Our treatments are gentle, safe, and designed with your comfort in mind. Acupuncture needles are very fine, and most clients experience minimal discomfort—many find the sessions deeply relaxing. Our practitioners are highly trained to ensure a safe and soothing experience.

What does acupuncture feel like?

The most common sensation is a dull, heavy, or achy feeling where the needle is placed, which may develop immediately or gradually. You might also feel warmth, tingling, or a subtle electric sensation. Some points may be more sensitive, while others might not be felt at all. If you ever feel anything sharp or uncomfortable, let your acupuncturist know so adjustments can be made to ensure your comfort.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

The number of sessions varies depending on your condition and goals. Some clients notice improvements after just one session, while others may require ongoing treatments for more lasting results. We’ll work with you to create a plan that aligns with your health journey and goals.

What are the education and clinical training required to become a Licensed Acupuncturist?

Becoming a Licensed Acupuncturist involves extensive and comprehensive training at nationally accredited institutions. The curriculum involves rigorous coursework covering traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) fundamentals, diagnostics, biomedicine, and Chinese herbal studies. The program includes 950 clinical hours, encompassing observation rotations and hands-on practice under the guidance of licensed professionals. To practice, all acupuncturists must pass a national certification exam, complete Clean Needle Technique Certification, and adhere to specific state regulations and guidelines. This rigorous process ensures safe, effective, and compassionate care for every patient.
